Vacation Bible School
Each summer, we host a Vacation Bible School event open to the community. The event is targeted for elementary school aged children (entering grades K-5), however we also invite older youth from our church to volunteer throughout the week. Unlike many others in the community, our VBS is held during the evening hours (6:00 – 8:00 pm) enabling something different for our youth as well as an opportunity for working members of our congregation to participate. We have a different theme each year, incorporating Bible stories, music, crafts, recreation, and snacks into each evening of fun and faith-building for everyone involved.
Surf Shack: Catch the Wave of God’s Amazing Love!
We invite all children entering Grades K-5 in the fall to join us for Surf Shack Vacation Bible School. At Surf Shack, kids are equipped and invited to plunge into the incredible experience of knowing God. They will encounter God’s awesomeness through Bible stories of the amazing ways God has moved in the lives of others before embarking on the breathtaking adventure of participating in God’s love.
With the Surf Shack as its hub, our church will become an ocean of excitement as kids (Surfers) and leaders (Lifeguards) enjoy beach–themed music, crafts, Science projects, recreation, Bible stories and more, becoming fully equipped to live out God’s mission in their lives.
Surf Shack takes place July 11 – 15, 2016 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm nightly at the United Methodist Church of Monroe. Click here for more information about our 2016 VBS program — we look forward to “catching the way” with you this summer!
