Are you looking for a special gift to honor a special person in your life on Father’s Day, June 21?
Our Missions collection will be for Pivot Ministries. Pivot is located in Bridgeport and is a Christ-centered, Bible-based, residential drug and alcohol treatment ministry for men of all ages, backgrounds and from throughout the northeast. The program offers a structured and supportive environment where Christ’s teachings and ways are applied to broken and defeated souls. The men graduate with the comfort and knowledge of the Bible and become valuable members of society and their churches. (More info on Pivot can be found at www.pivotministries.org.)
We all know how much the men like to eat so it seems appropriate that our collection will be to purchase a kitchen mixer that the ministry is in great need of! The Chef currently mixes batter and mashes potatoes by hand for 15+ men! Our goal is $400. Checks should be made payable and mailed to the church office with Pivot in the memo line; contribute online; or text “umcmonroe” to “73256” and type in the amount you want to give.
Thanking all in advance for your generosity!
** Pivot is a Christ-centered, Bible-based, residential drug and alcohol treatment ministry for men. It treats drug and alcohol addiction as a spiritual problem and returns men to their family whole. Students come from throughout the northeast and welcomes men from every background. The program offers a structured, supportive environment where the men learn acceptance, discipline, and love through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Through its Bible curriculum, Christ’s ways and teachings applied to broken and defeated souls have resurrected hundreds of Pivot graduates. Pivot men graduate with the comfort and knowledge of the Bible and become valuable members to their churches. More information on Pivot Ministries can be found at http://www.pivotministries.org/. UMC Monroe has had a long-standing relationship with Pivot, with the group participating in a worship service with us at least once a year followed by a potluck fellowship lunch.
