Attention all lay servants!

The Connecticut District of the New York Annual Conference is pleased to announce that the 2024 Lay Servant Basic Ministry Course is now open for registration!  If you feel called to do more to serve our communities and people of the United Methodist Church, this class is the first step toward earning laity credentials.

The Lay Servant Basic Ministries class will begin on Saturday, October 5. The ten-hour/five session class is scheduled as follows via Zoom:

Dates (all sessions run from 9:30 am – 11:30 am):
Saturday, October 5
Saturday, October 12
Saturday, October 19
Saturday, October 26
Saturday, November 2

** Attendance is required at all sessions to earn completion credit.  Also, participants must have a copy of the participant’s book (see below). All participants must be 17 years or older and confirmed members of the United Methodist Church. **

Required Book:    Lay Servant Ministries – Basic Course Participant’s Book by Sandy Jackson with Brian Jackson (ISBN 978-0-88177-626-3). You can purchase the book through Amazon, The Upper Room or Cokesbury.  ** Check all sources as prices may vary! Also available in Kindle version.  **   Order your book in time to read the introduction and session/chapter one prior to our first class. Check with your local church office. There might be a copy available for your use.
