Mission Mini Missions Max and Sam GrayMethodist Monthly Mini-Missions (MMMM)

In 2004, Max and Sam Gray set up a program with members of the church family and local outreach groups, such as the Monroe Food Bank, to gather donated food items such as food, coats, mittens, and hygiene projects. They devised a monthly calendar of contributions in which they ask the church family to place donated items in a special wagon at the church. The wagon was donated by Pastor Richard Griffin and holds a prominent position right in our front foyer. Once a month you’ll see our youth pulling the wagon out to a car to transport it to where it was needed most. Recipients beyond the Monroe Food Pantry included Kings Pantry and the Bridgeport Rescue Mission.

Max and Sam continued this work until they left for college at which time they passed the reins on to other youth. Our donations continue and are primarily focused on food products including healthy after-school snacks, cookies and cake mixes, etc.
