New York Annual Conference Lay Servant Ministries offers a range of in-person and virtual training courses. But our offerings aren’t just about taking classes—it’s about being equipped for real, life-impacting ministry roles with formal recognition, ongoing accountability, and connection to the larger church.
Ministry Knows No District Boundaries—Neither Should Training
Members of the NYAC can take Lay Servant Ministries courses offered by any district in our Conference, not just their own. This simply means if a course being offered in another district fits your schedule better, speaks to a calling you’re exploring, or features an instructor whose teaching style resonates with you—you’re welcome there. We’re one Annual Conference, one connection, and these courses are designed to strengthen all of us together.
The person from the Catskills sitting in a Zoom room with the teacher from Long Island and youth from the Hudson Valley? That’s not just logistics—that’s the beauty of our connectionalism at work. Don’t let district lines limit your growth. If a course calls to you, register for it. Your ministry matters to the whole conference, so train wherever the Spirit leads and your schedule allows. We’re all one body of Christ. Remember, we are stronger together and collectively equipping to make disciples of Jesus Christ without imaginary borders getting in the way. One of our primary goals, is to make training easier and accessible to all members of our NYAC family.
