We’re joining Golden Hill United Methodist Church to provide Christmas baskets for needy families in Bridgeport. As we’ve done in the past, we’ve “adopted” two families again this year.
Christmas wish lists for our two families (# 71 and # 76) are now posted outside the sanctuary.
Gifts and clothing (please include a gift receipt) need to be wrapped and labeled with the person’s name and placed in the labeled family container for Family # 71 or Family # 76. Although gift bags are nice, please try to use traditional wrapping paper for ease of transport.
Non-perishable food can be placed in the labeled family container for Family # 71 or Family # 76.
Gift cards – please hand to Rose, Lynn or Pastor Chuck or leave in the church office to Rose’s attention.
Monetary donations are welcome (to purchase Stop and Shop gift cards, mittens/gloves for all/any remaining items not selected).:
- Cash or check (made payable to UMC Monroe with Christmas Basket in the memo line) can be dropped in the offering plate or mailed to the church office — these donations will be used for purchasing globes/mittens, hats and scarfs for each family member or any remaining items or gift cards not selected.
- Online giving: through our website — just look for the Christmas Baskets tab on our home page
The deadline to donate is Sunday, December 14. You can drop off your donations on Sundays or Tuesdays/Thursdays (8:30 am to 12:30 pm) at the church office or contact Rose for alternate plans.
