2024 Thanksgiving Food Drive for Summerfield UMC’s Food Pantry
Thanksgiving is right around the corner and we will be collecting non-perishable foods for Summerfield UMC’s Food Pantry. Take advantage of grocery store sales! Your monetary contributions are also welcome.
** The deadline for giving to Summerfield UMC is Sunday, November 17 — please keep this in mind as you do your shopping! **
Let’s make the holiday special for our neighbors with all the food we donate!
For a full bag:
(2) cans of corn
(2) cans of peas
(2) cans of French-style green beans
Crispy fried onions
(2) cans of mushroom soup
(1) box or bag of stuffing
(1) box or bag of rice
(1) can of cranberry sauce
(2) cans of turkey or chicken broth
(1) jar of gravy or (2) envelopes of dried
(1) large can of yams
(2) boxes of mac and cheese
(1) box of pie crust mix
(1) box of corn bread mix
For a half bag:
(2) cans of corn
(2) cans of peas
(1) box or bag of stuffing
(1) box or bag of rice
(2) cans of turkey or chicken broth
(1) jar of gravy or (2) envelopes of dried
(1) large can of yams
Monetary gifts are also welcome!
Cash or check (made payable to UMC Monroe with Thanksgiving Food Drive in the memo line) can be mailed to the church office or dropped in the offering plate. To give online, click here (https://onrealm.org/umcmonroe/give/Thanksgiving) or look for the button on our website (umcmonroe.org)
Items should be placed in a double brown paper bag (you can find some near the wagon in the narthex) or a reusable grocery bag. Please only put the items on either list in the bag as we want to be able to have all the bags equal for distribution by Summerfield. Note: Be sure to check the expiration date on all items before adding to the bag.
Please remember to bring in your filled bags by Sunday, November 17 to allow time for delivery to Summerfield UMC for distribution before the holiday. Questions?
** Donation(s) can be placed in/around the wagon in the Narthex or can be dropped off during church office hours on Tuesday and Thursday (8:30 am – 12:30 pm). **
