Qualified Charitable Distribution
If you are 70½ or older, you are required to take required minimum distributions (RMDs) from your traditional IRA account. You can make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) by requesting your IRA custodian to send a distribution to the United Methodist Church of Monroe.
Benefits: The qualified charitable distribution amount can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions and the amount is excluded from your taxable income.
