NEW NEWS:  Boy Scout Troop 63 Plant Sale benefits UMC Monroe Church Garden

Are you looking for plants for your home garden?  If so, please check out Monroe Boy Scout Troop 63’s plant sale online** Liam is a member of Troop 63! **

While you’re shopping for your home garden, please consider donating a few 1/4 flats to UMC Monroe’s Community Garden.  It’s really easy to do … simply select the quantity of 1/4 flats you want to donate by choosing the “Monroe Community Garden”  item (should be on the top of the list!) from the list — DON’T FORGET TO SPECIFY THAT YOUR COMMUNITY DONATION IS GOING TO UMC MONROE IN THE SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS!  Our donations will go towards the “wish list” we provided to the boy scouts of veggie plants (ie. tomato and cucumber plants) or flowering plants (ie. marigolds, verbena, or dahlias).

Orders must be placed by Monday, April 25.  Any purchase you make for yourself will be available for pickup on Saturday, May 7 between 9:00 am – noon at the Monroe Congregational Church/Rexford House.  ** No need to pick up any 1/4 flats you’re donating to the church … that will all be handled separately. **

If you have any questions, please contact Kelley Keane-McAlexander.

Thanks for helping our church garden grow!

The soil has been tilled and raised-bed structures are in place — we’re just getting started!!  We’re very excited to get everyone together, especially our kids, to plant things and watch them grow!  Since many hands make light work, we welcome your help in bringing our garden to life.

Donations of the following materials would be greatly appreciated and tremendously helpful:

  • bags of nutrients/fertilizers – to add to and enrich the soil
  • vegetable plants and pollinator plants – what is a garden without plantings?
  • any tools you have on hand … old or new … we can use them!
  • cardboard – ALL SET!  We have what we need.
  • volunteers – to help us get everything in place and to maintain the garden going forward
  • monetary donations
    • cash or check (made payable to UMC Monroe with “Church Garden” in the memo line) … drop your donation in the collection plate or mail it to the church — please just make sure it is clearly marked for the Church Garden OR
