The lack of food for many in the Bridgeport area is astounding and we would like to assist Summerfield UMC in stocking the shelves at their Light on the Hill Food Pantry. Summerfield UMC is also a member of the Greater Bridgeport Co-op Parish and we most recently purchased Christmas gifts and snacks for their after-school program.
During March through Easter Sunday, April 17, we will be collecting non-perishables food items. These items can be left in the narthex.
Monetary contributions are also welcome and can be left in the offering plate or dropped off/mailed to the church office. Checks can be made payable to UMC Monroe with Food Drive in the memo line or directly online through our website (umcmonroe.org).
