UMC Monroe Church Family,

We are now able to offer in-person church services on Sundays at 10:00 am. Initially we will be projecting the Zoom service on the wall. The difference is you are attending with others in the church sanctuary which has been set up for proper distancing. At the end of the Zoom service, all will exit to the parking lot. (No coffee hour, but socially distanced conversation w/masks will be possible in the lot.)

We request that all members and guests register to attend so that we can abide by Conference and state rules surrounding the current coronavirus pandemic.  All who attend should be aware of a few things.

According to the CDC:

“Risk for Severe Illness Increases with Age

As you get older, your risk for severe illness from COVID-19 increases. For example, people in their 50s are at higher risk for severe illness than people in their 40s. Similarly, people in their 60s or 70s are, in general, at higher risk for severe illness than people in their 50s. The greatest risk for severe illness from COVID-19 is among those aged 85 or older.

There are also other factors that can increase your risk for severe illness, such as having underlying medical conditions. By understanding the factors that put you at an increased risk, you can make decisions about what kind of precautions to take in your daily life.”

We recommend that those who may fall into a higher risk category remain home and attend virtually. Also if you experience any symptoms related to coronavirus like a high fever, cough, shortness of breath or a new loss of smell/taste, please do not come until you are completely symptom free.

To enter you will need to pass a temperature test (99.5 degrees Fahrenheit or less), wear a mask, agree to not sing (humming is ok :), and check in/sign in for tracking purposes in the event someone who attends tests positive.

We all want to get back to normal, but before we can, we need to make sure we can comply with legal and church conference standards.  We also want to make sure we take all necessary precautions to protect our congregation and guests during these unsure times.

Description of service:

  • Initially we’ll be doing an in-person version of our current Zoom Virtual program. It will be the same service offered to those attending at home.
  • The only real difference would be that this would be a group attending in the church sanctuary.
  • At the end, we will exit to the parking lot. There won’t be a coffee hour, but socially distanced conversation will be possible. Also masks will be required.
If you would like to reserve a spot in the in-person session this weekend, please click the link below to sign up.  That will make sure you have a spot and we’ll be able to check you in when you arrive.
