The Rotary Club of Monroe “SOCtober” Event

NO ONE SHOULD HAVE COLD FEET!

** UPDATE:  with the help of UMC Monroe members, the Rotary Club collected approximately 1,200 pairs of socks and will match the donations!   The 2,400 pairs of new socks will be distributed to organizations in the area, including the Bridgeport Rescue Mission. Thanks for your help and generosity! **

The Rotary Club of Monroe is collecting new pairs of men’s, women’s and kid’s socks until October 31 for their SOCtober event.

The club will be matching donations — if 1,000 pairs of new socks are donated, the club will match it with another thousand. (That’s a lot of socks!) The socks will be donated to Bridgeport Rescue Mission, Homes for the Brave (serving veteran women and men), and The Center for Family Justice, all Bridgeport-based non-profits.

There will be a collection box for your sock donations in the church Narthex through October 31 or drop them off during office hours.  You can also drop off donations at collection boxes around Monroe — at Town Hall, Benedict’s Home and Garden, Endangered Studio, Monroe Social, Newtown Savings Bank, The Last Drop Cafe and Union Savings Bank.

Thank you for your support so that everyone can have warm feet!!
