Rev. Martha Epstein

Pastor
E-mail Rev. Martha Epstein

Pastor Martha is a “P.K.” (Preacher’s kid) and has been active in church all her life. Before she heard the call from God to go into ordained ministry she worked as a teacher and children still hold a very dear place in her heart. She has a Masters in Divinity from Drew University as well as a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and a Masters in Elementary Education from Pace University.

She is married and has a daughter and a step-son and daughter-in-law as well as a wonderful Saint Bernard/Boxer/who knows what mix. She began serving Christ at the UMCM in July 2013. Previously she served Vail’s Gate UMC and Gardnertown UMC in Newburgh, NY.  In June 2017 Martha was ordained an Elder in Full Connection in the New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Martha had a wonderful opportunity to visit Ghana in the fall of 2014 as the first visit of what she hopes to be a long missional relationship with the Ghana Methodist Church. Since her move here she has become quite active in the Monroe community; she serves as the Recording Secretary for the Monroe Women’s Club, is a member of C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) and serves on the Monroe Senior Center’s Strategic Committee.

In her free time she enjoys hiking, walking the Housatonic Rail Trail, curling up with a good book and spending time with her family.
